Science Fair Letter-Continued

Dear Mrs. Valentine,

It is now nearly time for Abbie’s Science Project to be finished and she has barely started! But, we’ve already had some disasters and that’s why I am writing.

After much procrastination, I guess she finally talked with you and decided on the "Frog Hibernation" project. Although, she did not bring home the specifics on what she was to do or study during the experiment.  So on Monday I purchased about $30.00 worth of frogs (two green tree-frogs that PetsMart made me provide a written promise to care for like they were my own children) and associated equipment! This purchase was based upon what she could "remember" that she needed.

That night, the cat knocked over the container in her room and the frogs and crickets got loose. She eventually found them, but she was up until 2:00 a.m. rounding up the little fellas!

Last night she was ready to begin but when I pressed her for the written directions on how to make a frog hibernate, she couldn’t provide them!  I just couldn’t allow her to start messing with those poor frogs without some adult supervision, especially when she talked about ice-cubes and things!

This morning after getting her off to school, I noticed the cat chasing ONE of the frogs, who has now managed to escape the cat all the way from upstairs, down to the front door!

Desperate, he is trying get out of this house before someone freezes him with ice-cubes, or he gets eaten by a giant orange cat!

After fighting off the cat, I get my dad to grab the terrified frog who is now firmly attached to the front door, and take him back to his "home" in Abbie’s room.
