This is what the river looked like from my upper deck this extremely cold, but gorgeous morning! Isn't it amazing, with the patterns of the mist rising just above the water! That's my backyard!!! Imagine sunrise coming just the other side of that view! Spectacular! ::big sigh:: I am one lucky woman to have found this place! And...I almost hate to leave!
But, on the other hand...............
It's 17 degrees here!
SEVENTEEN!
Tonight were dropping down to ELEVEN!
I know.... it's waaaaayyyyy colder where some of you people live. Bless your hearts.... I don't know how you do it. It's just that I have that born and bred California blood running through my veins, so 68 degrees is about perfect for me!
I am getting outta here tomorrow and heading back to sunny California just in time to avoid the snow that may hit here Monday! I can get plenty of that frozen precipitation stuff at home, in the mountains, where I have a car!
Since I had to give the "borrowed" car back to my son on Wednesday, I've been feeling somewhat restless. It's not like I need or really want to go anywhere, it's just the fact that I can't that makes me a bit uncomfortable. That will teach me to let my driver's license expire! Note to self...TAKE CARE OF THAT ASAP!
Today I actually did a little housekeeping, in preparation for my departure. I didn't wash a single dish while I was here, until today....because I was truly vacationing. The whole time I've been here has been pure self-indulgence and I've loved every minute of it.
I have vacuumed the upstairs and will finish with the downstairs tomorrow morning as this place has to be in tip-top shape when I leave, so that it's nice, clean and orderly when I return. There's a motive to my madness, of course! I'm sure it's a control thing too as this is the only piece of my little world that I think I've had total control over, at least in the housekeeping area. There's nothing better than to walk in here where it's uncluttered, organized amd peaceful, when you need to get away from it all!
Less is definitely more, believe me.

That photo is gorgeous!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip back.
I read your message to Lisa about her having problems leaving comments here. i am having the same problem. I have to try 5-6 times before my message posts. Just thought i'd let you know!
Love the last line of yours - Less is definitely more. I've learned that over the past several years.
ReplyDeleteI hope you have a safe trip back to CA - wish I was going back, I miss and NEED some sunshine, don't really need a lot of heat, just sun!
Beautiful photograph, looks so peaceful and calming.

Gorgeous... and ya, don't have anywhere to go and, at times, actually prefer to stay in... except when I can't! The problem with drinking... tell us we CAN'T and we want it more. HA!
ReplyDeleteThat is an absolutely gorgeous view. I'm so used to seeing buildings out of my window, I forget that other people have nature! And it's 7 degrees here today. I think it may be up to 9 by now, but STILL!
ReplyDeleteThat is certainly beautiful.
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip back to Cali today! I'm actually sort of sad you're leaving Tennessee. I looked forward to hearing about your cozy, secluded lifestyle there. That's my idea of heaven. LOL
Hope to hear from you soon!
Our pond froze over, rather thick. You could probably walk on it but I was not taking any chances, even though it is never more than shoulder deep. Trevor was dying to run on it.
ReplyDeleteWishing you safe travels back home!

that is a BEAUTIFUL photo. i hope you have enjoyed your vacation!
ReplyDeleteGlad you made it back ok. By the way, the ironic part of all of that, I didn't BF. I used cabbage (imagine a very strange looking mermaid top... LOL) to dry things up but neglected to wash the cabbage. Who would think you need to wash the stuff if you aren't eating it? I don't plan on doing that again this time around. I'll just use ice and let nature take it's course.
ReplyDeleteLove,
Jamie
Th view is truly wonderful, thanks for sharing the pic.
ReplyDeleteThat's a really poetic picture of a river!
ReplyDeleteHave a safe trip home, wonderful picture by the way.
ReplyDeleteAhhh it gave me a giggle reading about your dealing with the cold - Sorry - but it did!!!
