Happy Thanksgiving!

thanksgiving or happy thanksgiving Pictures, Images and Photos

Well, some of us are happy! There's some kind of trouble in paradise for the young lovers, as evidenced by the loud voices and the door being slammed when I got up this morning....but that's their problem. The door slamming was my problem however, and I did step up to the plate and threaten bodily harm if the leaded glass in my new front door was broken due to someone's little holiday temper tantrum. I am so glad the Wizard gave me the spine that I needed so desperately!

Have I mentioned that I LOVE AL ANON? I have soooo learned to stay outta stuff that ain't my bizness!!!

All of THAT was going on around me and I just sat my happy butt right here at the computer and continued just loving life; anticipating and very thankful for a wonderful home-cooked Thanksgiving meal at someone else's house! And...that the Love Birds had other plans! It doesn't get much better than that!

But, it was a very short night.

Another adventure in our County Emergency Room from about 10 pm until we got back up the mountain and finally home at about 0445 hours...<----cop talk for O'DARK reallllly EARLY!

Tam doesn't doooooo mornings or afternoons, as it interferes with her beauty sleep! So she decided that heading down there at THAT time of night might not be so bad, but then there was that pesky fog to contend with and after a white knuckle ride we pulled into the hospital parking lot unscathed.

The usual freak parade that normally hangs outside the Emergency Room entrance, must have stayed home for the night, but still, we both made an audible gasp seeing how many people were seated inside. Nobody looked tooooo seriously injured or in obvious distress, so I thought maybe we'd actually luck out and not have to wait too long.

After going through Triage, and one slightly abnormal EKG later, she was promptly given a bed and evaluated by the charge nurse. She didn't display the previous "drug-seeking behaviors" probably because she was in too much pain and I think I had totally shamed her by reading her my last blog entry about her rather unflattering dramatics during our last ER episode! I am proud to say she still has a little self-respect!

Anyway...her ultrasound showed that there was still some fluid around her heart and they decided to prescribe Prednisone; a steriod that usually helps get the inflammation under control. After a shot of morphine and the wait for the labs was over, we were free to go!

Practically painless..at least for me, since she was well behaved and I stayed busy and awake by continuing to read Twilight, which could be more delicious than that Thanksgiving dinner that I am anticipating!

YUM!
