~Bowing to the Blogfather, with gratitude for helping me with the dreaded ~ tilde problem! Who knew? He did! Bless you John!
After a what she considered a tortuous week of homebound restriction with her "Annoying" mother, Ab has left the building. Her teacher reports an amazing change in attitude and effort and only one missing assignment that can and will be completed during the week-long (geez, when did that happen?) Thanksgiving break. Ab is truly thankful! She was invited to San Diego to join a girlfriend who’s spending the holiday week there with her mom and stepfather and I allowed her to go, with an advance on her allowance too. I am probably off the annoying list, at least temporarily and I will give thanks for a week without the headaches that accompany parenting an alien…ah, hem…a teenager. This too shall pass.
The Christmas Club check has arrived and I will head down the mountain today for the "Pre-Thanksgiving" sales and knock off a few items on the Christmas list. It used to be that the day after Thanksgiving was the best sales day, but around here they’re starting this weekend. Is there really any reason for retailers NOT to have a sale anymore?
I just got back from having breakfast with Tam and one of her best friends; Dana. It was too much fun for first thing in the morning. Dana can keep me laughing with her woeful tales of a young single woman’s search for the perfect man. Like the song says....It's like trying to find Atlantis!
Since Tam now has a part-time waitress job I strongly suggested she pay the check, (just one time please..humor mom, will ya) since she brought home 100 bucks in tips last night! At nearly 32 years old, she still EXPECTS mama to maintain her in the lifestyle she’s grown accustomed to, so a little guilt trip from mom once in a while does the trick.
Mission accomplished. I left the tip.

Well, we didn't come up with the answer for the mysterious stretched journal, did we? Hmmmm.... Anyway, have fun shopping! Lisa :-]
ReplyDeleteI don't know what causes journals to sometimes scroll all the way across. I had some theories, but none of those seem to be true for your journal. I just click on the LINK TO THIS ENTRY button and read it like a book that way. Takes care of the scrolling issues. Glad to hear you're hanging in there. Breakfast sounded like loads of fun! Shana
