The problem with death is absence.
~Roger Rosenblatt
Tonight as we celebrated my youngest brother's wedding without our Papa, I was reminded of a quote that said something like.....The longer we live, the more deaths we will experience. But on the other hand, we will also experience more joys....such as the births of new loved ones, weddings, miracles and triumphs in life.
Papa just loved Wendy and was thrilled to hear that Parker was finally set on marrying this beautiful young woman. Wendy loved Papa and she spent many an hour at his bedside when he was so very sick, and as a result, she endeared herself to our family all the more.
Although we shed some tears tonight, since Papa wasn't with us physically, I know that he was there in spirit and rejoiced right along with us!
Life goes on.

I'm sure he WAS right there with you. Lisa :-]
ReplyDeleteWow, that's a beautiful picture! And what a lovely story you tell along with it! Thank you! I've never seen a groom in all white too! How cool! It seems very fitting for a marriage to be like a baptism in white as it is a new beginning to a new kind of life! Remember: a wedding is just a day, the marriage takes time to form afterwards. God bless Parker & Wendy. I am sure your family's support and encouragement has meant the world to them already. Shana
