Gratitude-After Christmas Thoughts

After Christmas Thoughts
December 26, 2003

100px x 100px It's been so long since I've written in my gratitude journal, yet I try to mentally give thanks daily for all the blessings in my life.

Today, after reading of the devastation from the horrible earthquake in Iran, I am so very grateful for:

A warm sheltering home, with family, pets, food and clothing.

The currently stable ground on which my modern home stands, despite the significant faults that often rumble beneath.

Mother Nature's present quietness in my little corner of the world.

The lives of my loved ones, who are also sheltered, safe and warm.

My possessions and especially photographs, which make my house a home, and are momentos of a cherished life, friends and family, and my career.

And, most of all, that there were so few casualties in the recent California quake.

My thoughts and prayers are with those who are suffering throughout the world, but especially right now in Paso Robles, Devore (mudslides and casualties) and earthquake devasted Iran.
