Love, Losers and Lunatics-Part I

Love stories, love poems, love letters and love songs, first loves, unrequited love, school girl crushes, lust and longing, chocolates, hearts and flowers, knights on white horses and candle light..................

Promises, vows made and broken, dreams shattered and lives changed, mistakes made, lies told, hurts, headaches and heartaches................

Yet we don't stop searching for "it".....

Today at breakfast, I wished Casey, our very sweet, beautiful and amazingly efficient 16 year-old waitress a Happy Valentines Day.....and said....."Do you have a Valentine right now?"

(Hoping she'd say that she and that really cute bus-boy Evan; the one with the awesome dimples had finally  gotten together)

Casey said....."No!  But......I do have a stalker!"

So, she stood there and told me all about this puke, a man (which may be too generous a title) about 25 years old, who cannot take NO for an answer!  A creep who's made her uncomfortable in her work environment.

I wonder if her boss knows?  How about her parents?  Has she confided in them?

Her youth and vulnerability make me want to envelope her in my mothering arms and wrap her up safely, so NO ONE can hurt her!

The story gave me chills, and brought back horrific memories of my own troubles with a stalker at my worksite, that lasted for 5, yep....FIVE long years!  My situation was in a different day and age.  Before sexual harassment laws.  During the "Well little honey, if YOU can't stand the heat, get out of our kitchen" days, beginning in 1981.
