Wet Day

It's been pouring  rain here all day!  I don't really mind rain, I just don't like to have to be out in it (cause I am made of sugar and I just might melt :) and, it's not really conducive to my mental health, diet or allergies.  I tend to get a little more depressed......want to eat comfort and depression food....kinda like putting on a winter coat of fat...and then, all the rain causes mold, which is the thing I am most allergic to in life.  Glad I don't live in Seattle or somewhere like that, because I couldn't deal with that much wet.   But, on the positive side, since we live at about 4000' the rain often turns to snow, and I like snow.  I used to really, really like snow.  Practically prayed for snow every winter day, just because it's so pretty to look at, but I really don't want to get out in that stuff either.  It's cold, wet, scary to drive in (sometimes I  get vertigo in snowflake whiteouts) and it gets tracked in the house, etc.  I'd like snow a lot better if it didn't get on the streets or sidewalks.  Wouldn't that be great?  (Hey God...How's that for a suggestion?)  Because, I am just too clumsy to be out trying to walk around in snow.  I can't even walk in broad daylight, without a slight breeze!  Just tonight I tripped on a curb at the grocery store....didn't fall, but twisted my back outta whack.  I'll be able to tell just how much in the morning.   In the 23 years I have been driving in snow, I have had enough close calls to give me a healthy respect for the dangers, so I am p-r-e-t-t-y damn careful on the road.  It's the other people that really scare me, like those flat-landers who move up here to "paradise" and drive like they're still city slickers on freeways.  OH...btw, I just bought a building lot HIGHER up on this mountain.....at just about 5000' to build my retirement home.  I guess at that time, I will just begin to hibernate in the winter!  But what a view!
