Papa continues to be sick, but I must head back to work tomorrow since I've about run out of sick (family) time. His "rerouted" bile duct is obviously not working properly and he's having so many of the original symptoms that we're probably back to square one on this problem.
He's promised me that he'll call his gastro doctor tomorrow because she referred him for a HIDA test, and it hasn't been scheduled yet. HMOs! They must get that test done to see if the bile duct is performing as it should, because if it's not, he's going to get sicker and sicker. He's also concerned about the multiple hernias that have popped out all over his belly where the previous surgery sites are. His intestines are just covered with a little scar tissue and skin in that area that they had to remove a fistula and old mesh that was infected.
With his health and diabetes, he can't take much more of all this illness. Just last week, he fell flat on his face in the driveway and really hurt himself. Broken nose, and BIG bump on his forehead and two huge black eyes! He wouldn't leave the house after that because he looked like he'd been beat up! But, this weekend we finally got him out for breakfast in a restaurant!

If we could only get him healthy again!

ReplyDeleteI'm sorry to hear of all the medical problems your father is facing. I know it is hard for you. My mother will be having hernia surgery later in the month. She has one...but it's HUGE. Thanks for stopping by my journal and leaving a comment with your link. I will be back to visit again.
